The first House of Knowledge Family Day was held at the third campus – the brand new Xinglong campus, on October 20th, 2018. Nearly 240 visitors arrived on the day for the campus tour during which they marvelled at the school’s state-of-the-art facilities. Children were drawn in by the diverse, entertaining demo classes and interactive games, while their parents gained a better understanding of HoK’s educational concept, staffing and class setting during the information session.
HoK’s co-founders, the CEO, and Principals from other campuses were all in attendance for the Family Day. Farshad Danicek, co-founder, presented on the development history, educational concept and core values of the kindergarten during the information session, and responded to parents’ inquiries.
While their parents were in the information session, children were actively participating in the demo classes. They explored the properties of ice in “Science for Children”, learned numbers through song and dance, distinguished colors while making bird feeders, and practiced handwriting skills in “Literacy for Children”. Although it was the first time the children had been in the school and in an unfamiliar environment, they took to the content of the classes with ease and became actively engaged. They were even reluctant to leave once the classes were over.
The children also baked an array of lovely pastries in their exclusive kitchen, became little readers in the children’s library, chose face paints for their favorite roles of a game in the in-door gaming area, created a “cookie necklace”, and took part in a classic game of “Snakes and Ladders” in the huge 1,300m² out-door playground.
The day ended on a high with parents and children savoring a delicious organic lunch provided by HoK to get a taste of the food choices available daily for our students.
