Last Saturday we held our annual community yard sale at our Shunyi Campus. A great team from both HoK and Roundabout, worked hard to ensure the event was a success!
It was a hot sweltering day, but that did not keep away the visitors interested in grabbing a bargain from the many vendors that set up to sell their unwanted second-hand items.
This objective of this event was to bring the community together, to raise money for a good cause while selling their unwanted items. Each person who came to sell their second-hand items gave homemade baked goods to our cake table, and then we sold the baked goods to raise funds. In addition, to the cake table, Roundabout was also present at the event, with their mini book fair selling gently used second- hand books.
In total, we managed to raise 5,004.8rmb towards the medical expenses for Peng Chang Yu, a five-year boy with hearing and vision impairment.
A huge HoK thank you to everyone that worked at the event, or who attended. Together as a community, we managed to raise money for a good cause!
